Mahudi Tirth

In ancient times, this place was known as Madhupuri. The idols and artistic remains found from the hollow of the earth show that this place is nearly 2000 years old. The inscription in the Brahmi script also show its antiquity.

The ancient and beautiful Mulnayak Bhagawana Padmaprabhu, was formally reinstalled by ‘Yognishta Acharyadev Shrimad Buddhisagarsurisvarji’ in the newly built temple in the 1974 of the Vikram era. This temple with a passage for going round it is different.
Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir idol was installed in the temple by the ‘Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Buddhisagar Suriswarji Maharaj Saheb’ in the 1974 of the Vikram era. The idol of Shri Ghantakarna Mahvir is very miraculous. Thousands of pilgrims with faith and devotion, come here to fulfill their desires. Every year, on the fourteenth day of the dark half of the month of Aso, the ceremony of charitable offering is celebrated in the Jain way in the temple of Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir. The annual function is also celebrated.

Mahudi tirth bhoomi is a witness to lakhs of pilgrimes each year..the force behind this miraculous shrine is Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev. Shrimad Buddhisagarji Maharaj Saheb saw a tortoise passing through this barren land years ago. He considered this a sign of good luck and a decision was made to build Mahudi tirth here, later, when he saw jains running here n there to other temples and shrines for fulfillment of wishes and protection , He felt the need of a jain deity whom people could pray n ask for help. He did hard ‘Saadhna’ (Meditation) for 3 days and with his vital powers he assessed Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev ‘pratyaksha’ through ‘havan’ fire and he bounded him to protect and welfare for peoples. He immediately draw his image (flashed from fire) and later an idol was made from a river side rock since marble would take time to be delivered from Rajasthan. BuddhiSagar Maharaj Sahebji made the idol lively by putting “Praan” (Lively Power) into it. Since then lakhs of people have experienced the miracles of Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev in personal n professional fronts. The tirth has brought tremendous prosperity to all its followers..With each passing day the “Mahima” (Popularity) of Mahudi is multiplying such is the tirth of ‘Mahudi’ the only one of its kind in India.

In this shrine there is another larger temple with a 22-inch marble idol of Bhagawan Padmaprabh sitting in padmasana (lotus) posture, installed by Acharyadev.One more temple known as Guru Mandir was built later with idol of Acharyadev Buddhi Sagarsurisvarji in it.Taking the ‘Prasad’ (food after being offered to the deity first) called ‘Sukhadi’ outside the temple premises, as it is considered inauspicious to do so.

Importanat Events at Mahudi Tirth

‘KaliChaudas’ Is one of most important event in Mahudi. That day at least two lakhs people visits here. On that day people come for making knots on thread in which 108 times they chant Mantras and after every mantra read a bell rings. They sits around ‘Hanvan’ (fire) and read mantras and then spill ghee and other materials into Havan.
‘Dhaja Mohatsav’ is event in which every year the flags of Dehrasar (Jain Temple) is changed with new ones. On that day too thousands of people are cited.
