In order to make our place in the world we need to create a credible brand, an individual cannot do this. States, associations and businesses must come together in order to achieve this: Shri Narendra Modi

Today, manufacturing businesses in China know our festivals well. They know and understand the Indian consumer well. This gives them an advantage when it comes to manufacturing everything, right from Ganesh Idols to Rakhis. Thus, Vision is extremely important if a business is to growShri Narendra Modi

We should also look at how much raw materials we export and how many value added goods we export, we should try and export not just iron ore but steel, not just polished diamonds but jewelleryShri Narendra Modi

Speaking about the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor’s Summit, the CM said, “We are conducting 125 seminars. We will be touching all spheres of governance and development.  Our mission is bringing whatever is good and positive in the world into India and showcasing India’s strengths to the worldShri Narendra Modi

Hon’ble CM’s presence at various events during Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013

On Wednesday 9th Janaury 2013, while releasing a book at the Gujarat National Law University, Hon. CM Shri Narendra Modi spoke about the importance of values and vision in Business.

Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) jointly with Government of Gujarat is organizing one day Conclave on “Export Competitiveness of Gujarat – Vision 2020” to be inaugurated by Shri. Narendra Modi, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat at Museum Hall, Gujarat National Law University, Attalika Avenue, Knowledge Corridor, Koba, Dist. Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Wednesday, 9th January, 2013.

India’s export (of goods and services) to GDP ratio increased from 12.4 per cent in 2006 to about 25 per cent (16% goods and 9% services) in FY 2012. Yet India accounts for only 1.5 per cent of world exports. India’s exports are also evenly balanced between merchandise and services. Moreover, the change in direction of exports suggests that India has been diversifying the destination of its exports away from traditional markets.

As per Economic Survey 2011-12, Gujarat is ranked 1st in respect of merchandise exports accounting for about 24% of India’s exports. The sectoral profile of Gujarat is quite vibrant and diverse. The State is further moving to set up truly world class huge-sized Special Investment Regions. They will be supported by world class infrastructure, premium civic amenities and an exemplary policy environment. Setting up of these SIRs is in line with the upcoming Dedicated Freight Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai for Rail connectivity and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) for road connectivity.

Keeping in view the present scenario FIEO has conducted a research Study on Export Competitiveness of Gujarat. Through this Study, we have identified products which have the potential to meet the global standards through policy and infrastructure interventions. The study has also highlight the major competitors in global markets and the non-tariff barriers faced by our products esp. related to quality and regulations.

The report and vision 2020 document would be released by the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat in presence of distinguished guest at the inauguration ceremony of conclave. Various dignitaries from the Government of Gujarat, Top Industrialists, Sr. officials from the Customs, Central Excise, Air Cargo, Chambers of Commerce, Trade Associations would be invited to attend and grace this auspicious occasion.
